On July 6, 2017, Governor Tom Wolf joined executives from Tyson Warehousing Services, LLC to announce the expansion of the company’s cold storage warehouse and distribution center at the Highridge Business Park in Cass Township, Schuylkill County. The project will create 114 new jobs.
Tyson Warehousing Services plans to add 164,000 square feet with 100-foot ceiling clearance to accommodate the addition of an automated storage and retrieval system to the existing 182,000 square foot facility. This $59.7 million investment will enable the company to retain 106 jobs and create 114 more for the local community over the next three years.
Steve Field, Chairman of the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) which developed the Highridge Business Park, noted, “it is always a great bit of news when an existing employer in Schuylkill County announces an expansion of their facility because it reflects their confidence in our community, our local, county and state elected officials and our local workforce. We are excited about their plans and the employment impacts that will come as a result of the expansion.”
